Statement of Significance
The war memorial and soldiers' memorial park, Manifold Street, Woolsthorpe, comprises a small stone war memorial (a column topped with a ball) which is erected in a small reserve. The reserve was donated for the purpose by local landowner William Lindsay in 1919. There are no apparent significant plantings remaining at the site, but the memorial was originally set within a seven-point floral garden bed.

The war memorial park has been renovated with a number of community and historical improvements through information and accessibility. New toilets, shelter room, tennis courts and a childrens playground have been added. The original park plaque has been repaired and a new surround added. The shelter has an information board which explains the origins of the park and war memorial. Granite plaques depicting soldiers from all wars established behind the stone memorial.
