27/07/20

There are numerous articles in the Portland Guardian in regard to the Bolwarra Woolwash. It was erected in 1869 by Mr J Schofield (Guardian 22 Nov 1869). Its operation was described 18 & 20 Mar 1884. On 8 Mar 1888 there was a reported change of ownership to Messrs Campbell & Sons. The property failed to sell as part of an auction of the assets of the Estate of HJM Campbell on 22 Jan 1923. In 1936 the property was the site of returned soldiers second annual picnic (9 Mar 1936).
