DUNACH FOREST HOMESTEAD COMPEX - History
Homestead was built in 1858 for Malcolm MacCallum and wife Julia. The Stables date to 1848 and are associated the Alexander MacCallum. The Shearing Shed and shearers quarters were built in 1854as part of Alexander MacCallums Dunach forest run. The 1854 shed replaced a shed which burnt down during the black thursday bushfire.

- stables constructed sometime between 1841 abd 1848.
- Site would have been built around 1854 or later when the shearing shed was built.
- site was probably still in use in late 19th century.
- In 1905 the shearing shed was renovated and shortened to a 4 blade shed.
- shearing machines were installed in 1927.
- Dry stone used to segregate land on 1840's.

-Has potential to inform on the way space was utilised on pastoral ruins in the 19th and 20th centuries.
- Is likely to have intact deposits and artifacts in good conditon as it is relatively undisturbed.
- high potential to yield good temporal and spatial data.

The complex is of local historical significance due to its association with AlexanderacCallum one of the firstpastoralists in the area. The complex is also representative of grazing and raising livestock during the mid-late 19th century.
