Statement of Significance
This place is included on the Victorian Heritage Inventory, for its potential to contain historical archaeological remains associated with the settlement and growth of early Melbourne. Under the terms of the Heritage Act 2017 there is protection for all historical archaeology sites and objects in the state.

1-5 QUEEN STREET - Heritage Inventory Description
Second land sale 1837, Block 3, Allotment 8, RS Webb. Building on site 1839-40. 1871 - gabled warehouse, two floors one one-storey shop adjacent. 1877 - seven buildings and yard. 1888 - four two-storey buildings; De Beer & Co, Ships Brokers; Tasmanian Steam Navigation Co; Progressive Medical Institute; Grain Merchant and Agent. 1905 - same buildings; all occupied by grain and flour merchants.
