The Mansfield Obelisk, located on the High Street, commemorates the Boer War. The memorial comprises of a granite obelisk, specifically dedicated to the memory of Herbert John Goodman. The inscription notes he was "killed in action at Kosteo River, South Africa July 22nd 1900, whilst honourably upholding the prestige of Queen and Empire. 'No Surrender.'"
