What is significant?
This Pin Oak grows on a suburban street in Glen Waverley. It is a strong and well-balanced specimen.
How is it significant?
This Pin Oak is significant for scientific and social reasons at the Regional level.
Why is it significant?
This Pin Oak is scientifically significant for size. At 25m, it is one of the taller Pin Oaks in the Significant Tree Register, equalling specimens in Ballarat (T12199) and Beechworth (T12275). It is the tallest tree in the suburb and one of the oldest. It towers over other trees in the area and is socially significant for its contribution to the landscape. It adds to the strong naturalistic image and sense of enclosure within the leafy streetscape.
