How is it significant?
The row of semi-detached terraces at 15-29 Ford Street, Brunswick are of local historic and aesthetic significance to the City of Moreland.
Why is it significant?
Of historic significance, for their ability to aid in the demonstration of late nineteenth century development in Brunswick and for their association with prominent local businesswoman Elizabeth Dodd, who built these houses and named them for her four children - Clarice, Maie, Helen and Thomas. (AHC Criterion A.4)
Of aesthetic significance, as an unusual and reasonably intact group of identical semi-detached Edwardian terraces. (AHC Criterion E.1)

ATTACHED HOUSES (ROW) - Physical Description 1
The houses at Nos. 15-29 Ford Street are an unusual example of a row of identical semi-detached Edwardian terraces, all of which are named. The facades are in very good condition with minimal external changes. The houses have identical turned timber verandah posts, iron lacework, windows, doors (although some doors have replacement panels of glass in the centre panel), and decorated parapets. All are brick with tuck pointing evident. Three of the houses have been painted. All have low front fences, some of which are pickets. Numbers 27 and 29 still have intact tiled verandah floors. The houses are named, as follows:

19-21 Ford Street: Maie Villas
23-25 Ford Street: Helen Villas
