Statement of Significance
A terrace of eight two-storeyed houses built in stages in the 1850s for Hugh Glass, a prominent politician and financial figure in post-Gold Rush Melbourne. The houses are an early survival in Melbourne of terrace housing with Georgian characteristics and are attributed to the architect David Ross . The verandahs and dividing walls are probably later additions.
