This is a particularly large specimen in cultivation. Callistemon brachyandrus is native to NSW, SA, and Victoria, occuring chiefly in Red Gum / Black Box woodland along the Darling and Lower Murray Rivers. It normally only attains a height of 2 to 3 metres. During the summer months, after most other Callistemon species have flowered, this tree has small red brushes up to 8 cm long over the branches.
