Statement of Significance
The house at 28 Skene Street, Stawell, makes a significant architectural and visual contribution to the predominantly late 19th and early 20th century residential area. Although greatly altered, it is significant at a CONTRIBUTORY level, being associated with residential developments in Stawell in the late 19th or early 20th century and it demonstrates some remnant and appropriate design qualities of a Late Victorian style. These qualities include the single storey height, hipped roof form, rendered brick chimney with projecting tops, galvanised corrugated steel roof cladding, and the horizontal timber weatherboard wall cladding.
