STATEMENT OF SIGNIFICANCE
A timber house with late Victorian characteristics, traditional to Edwardian, built in 1903-4. It is architecturally significant as characteristic of this transitional style and historically significant as a representative embodiment of life in Newtown at the tum of the century.

Residence "La Petrie" - Physical Description 1
A triple=fronted timber, hip-roofed, late Victorian house with the left bay and right side rear bays projecting as gables. The front upper gable has timbering, on sinuous ogee curved brackets. There is a skillion hood on fretwork brackets. The entrance has side and fanlights and leadlight glazing. Windows are tripartite with panelf on the mullions.
