Ormond Lodge - Physical Description 1
DESCRIPTION
75 Ormond Road is substantially intact timer Bungalow attic storey residence. The facade features a central entrance flanked on wither side by double hung sash bay windows with lead light glazing and imitation timber wall shingles beneath. The roof is a large gable with front skillion verandah clad in terracotta tiles. At the side of the gable features a half timbered effect, wall shingles and large timber brackets. A smaller gable at first floor level protrudes from the rood and also features wall shingle and brackets. The door is a later addition. The verandah balustrade and brick fence at the front of the site are notable original elements. Both features biochromatic brickwork and thick capped piers. The gate has four tall brick and render piers forming a square and providing a formal entrance. The original iron gates remain. The verandah also features an unusual timber arched valance, and exposed rafters. A tall brick chimney with mouldings protrudes from the roof. 75 Ormond Road contributes to the residential streetscape.
