HIGH LEAD SUMMIT - History
Heritage Inventory History of Site: This winch line, known locally as the "High Lead", brought the tramway up and over from one river catchment to another. The opening of the High Lead in 1927 opened up the magnificent forests of the Ada River Valley.The site operated from 1926-42.Heritage Inventory Description
HIGH LEAD SUMMIT - Heritage Inventory Description
Winching site on top of Dowey Spur. The foundations of the winch house and possible dwellings remain along with various pieces of winding gear, cables and fittings. Domestic rubbish is also evident. Site dimensions 30x30m.
