Statement of Significance
The house, 15-17 Carfrae Street, Glenorchy, has significance as a moderately intact example of a Late Victorian style. Relocated to this site, the house appears to have been built in the late 19th or early 20th century, and appears in fair condition when viewed from the street.
The house, 15-17 Carfrae Street, Glenorchy, is architecturally significant at a LOCAL level. It demonstrates original design qualities of a Late Victorian style. These qualities include the hipped roof form, together with the hipped ogee form verandah that projects towards the street frontage. Other intact or appropriate qualities include the symmetrical composition, single storey height, horizontal timber weatherboard wall cladding, galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding, central timber framed doorway with highlight and four panelled timber door, narrow eaves, timber framed double hung windows and the remnant decorative cast iron verandah bracket.
Overall, the house, 15-17 Carfrae Street, Glenorchy, is of LOCAL significance.

The house, 15-17 Carfrae Street, Glenorchy, has a rural setting. There are open grassed surrounds, mature trees and some perimeter garden beds comprising immediately surrounding the house. The front is bound by an introduced steel mesh fence with an early scrolled metal gate.
The symmetrical, single storey, horizontal timber weatherboard, Late Victorian styled house is characterised by a hipped roof form, together with a hipped ogee form verandah that projects towards the street frontage. These roof forms are clad in galvanised corrugated iron. Narrow overhangs are features of the eaves.
The symmetry of the design is accentuated by the early timber framed doorway with highlight and four panelled timber door, and the flanking timber framed double hung windows.
A feature of the design is the front verandah. It is supported by introduced timber posts and has some remnant decorative cast iron brackets.
