Statement of Significance
This place retains many of the attributes of a characteristic place of its age and style. Further historical research and detailed site inspection may indicate that the place be considered for upgrading to local significance. Support for retention of the place should be given where possible.
The Chalet was owned by the Whettenbach family from the 1920s. In the 1950s the property was acquired by David and Ethel Dean and renamed "The Chalet". It would appear that they constructed the small timber single room chalets for holiday visitors. The single room buildings have a gable roof and small porch area to protect the door. They are clad in weatherboard and have a window along the side. The chalets are an important reminder of the simple nature of holiday accommodation in the era from the 1920s to the 1960s.
