Statement of Significance
The Joel Joel Public Hall, 214 Joel Joel Road, Joel Joel, has significance as a predominantly intact example of an early 20th Century hall building that is a legacy of the prosperity of the Joel Joel community for the period.
The Joel Joel Public Hall is architecturally significant at a LOCAL level. It demonstrates some original design qualities for an early 20th Century hall building. These qualities include the gable roof form, together with the minor gable that projects towards the front. Other intact or appropriate qualities include the horizontal timber weatherboard wall cladding, galvanised corrugated iron roof cladding, round galvanised iron ventilation stacks, narrow eaves, and the timber framed windows and doorways.
The Joel Joel Public Hall is historically and socially significant at a LOCAL level. It is associated with the development and prosperity of the Joel Joel community in the early 20th century, and is recognised as a public meeting place.
Overall, the Joel Joel Public Hall is of LOCAL significance.

The Joel Joel Public Hall, 214 Joel Joel Road, Joel Joel, is situated in a rural setting. The immediate surrounds consists of open grassed areas and perimeter eucalypts.
The asymmetrical, horizontal timber weatherboard, simple early 20th Century hall is characterised by a gable roof form, together with a minor gable that projects towards the front. These roof forms are clad in galvanised corrugated iron. Four round galvanised ventilation stacks adorn the roofline, and narrow overhangs are features of the eaves.
Other early features of the design include the timber framed windows and doorway.
The skillion porch at the front, supported by a steel post, has been introduced.
