Statement of Significance
The former Edwards Store, 13-19 Napier Street, St. Arnaud, is historically and architecturally significant at a CONTRIBUTORY level. It is associated with the commercial developments in St. Arnaud at the end of the nineteenth century and early twentieth century and demonstrates important design qualities. These qualities include the appropriate building height and the rendered parapet with piers surmounted by rendered urns and the face block embellished with a rendered lions head. The string course is enriched in one section by rendered brackets.
