Statement of Significance
The Centenary of the State Bank Memorial, Napier Street, St. Arnaud, forms a distinctive landscape setting adjacent to the Northern Grampians Shire Offices. It was designed in 1986/87 by the local Councillor, Maurice McGrath, to commemorate 100 years of the State Bank in St. Arnaud.
The Centenary of the State Bank Memorial is aesthetically significant at a LOCAL level. It demonstrates important visual and artistic qualities, which include the stepped arrangement of large natural rocks sculpted and arranged into a waterfall, and set in a pond with a brick surround and four other natural outlying rock pieces.
The Centenary of the State Bank Memorial is historically significant at a LOCAL level. It is associated with the commemoration by the local Shire of 100 years of the State Bank in St. Arnaud in 1987. It is also associated with the sculptor, Cr. Maurice McGrath.

The Centenary of the State Bank Memorial, Napier Street, St. Arnaud, consists of a stepped arrangement of large natural rocks sculpted and arranged into a waterfall, and set in a pond with a brick surround and four other natural outlying rock pieces. One of these single rocks has a plaque affixed which reads: "Presented to the Town of St. Arnaud on the 2nd March, 1987 in recognition of 100 years participation in the community by the State Bank of Victoria. Designer: Cr. Maurice McGrath."
