A very disturbed site with separate 1.5m high mounds of gravel, quartz stone, and white clay around a depression that would have been the shaft. There is evidence of removal of gravel. The site covers an area 50x50m, and has a couple of raised embankments running away from the mullock heaps that must have been used to collect water.
