Statement of Significance
Statement of Significance as recorded under the Queenscliff Heritage Study 2009
24 Baillieu Street is of historical and architectural significance to the Borough of Queenscliffe as a legible and well-preserved example of the simple single-fronted, transverse-gabled holiday house constructed at Point Lonsdale in the late nineteenth century. The house is also significant for its association with Rev H Halley, a prominent churchman of the district.

24 Baillieu Street, Point Lonsdale - Physical Description 1
Extract from the 2009 study
24 Baillieu Street originated as a small timber single-fronted single-storey house with timber post and framed verandah, a timber planked verandah frieze, a symmetrical layout and a transverse gable. The corrugated galvanised steel roof cladding is not original. The residence may have gained a second, similar bay in the 1887-89 additions. The front facade appears to be as originally designed and built, while the rear has gained further additions including a wing with different wall cladding, a verandah and pitched steel-clad roof running to the south of the original house.
