CLEVEDON GUEST HOUSE - History
Constructed in 1893 by Robert Charles Chandler on a large property on Mountain Highway. Initially used as a private residence, later became a guest house. Orginal house destroyed by fire in 1972. Site developed as "Clevedon Camp".CLEVEDON GUEST HOUSE - Interpretation of Site
Site represents important era of early tourism and guesthouses in the Dandenongs.

Location of 1893 guesthouse.
Low scientific, regional historic(McInnes 1993)
Recorded by: Andrea Murphy Date Recorded: 22/05/00 Very little left of site. Evidence comprises stone wall garden, brick steps, concrete path and vegetation. Site has been significantly redeveloped. The few remaining features have been incorporated into new buildings and landscaping. Original driveway formation still clearly evident.
