EXPLOSIVES FACTORY - BLUESTONE FOOTINGS (STABLES) - History
THE CONSTRUCTION AND DEMOLITION DATES OF THESE STABLES IS UNKNOWN. THEY MAY HAVE BEEN THE EARLY STABLESEXPLOSIVES FACTORY - BLUESTONE FOOTINGS (STABLES) - Interpretation of Site
THE COBBLESTONE FLOOR WAS LIKELY A REMNANT OF THE FLOOR OF THE STABLES THAT WERE LOCATED IN THE AREA DURING THE REMOUNT PERIOD. IT IS POSSIBLE THAT THE STABLES WERE CONSTRUCTED AS A SIMPLE EARLY STABLE FOR THE FISHER STUD (1862-1890) PRIOR TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE EXTENSIVE STABLES NOW KNOWN AS THE FISHER STABLES.
