Plenty War Memorial Gates - Physical Description 1
These memorial gates are at the entry to the recreation reserve, now Plenty Park. The include 1.2M wide pedestrian gates set either side of a 3.76m wide vehicle gateway, as marked by masonry piers with moulded cement capping, random freestone facing. Decorative wrought-iron gates, set between each pier, have panelled scrolled friezes at the top, midway and bottom. The main gate top rails have a scrolled profile and the rods to each gate have hooked ends, rising above the top rails.

Integrity
Generally near original. Visually unrelated Armco guard rails have been placed at the approach to the gates: more appropriate options might include bollards.

Plenty War Memorial Gates - Veterans Description for Public
The Plenty War Memorial Gates, located at 103-107 Yan Yean Road, form the entrance to the recreation reserve, known as Plenty Park. The gates were erected by the Plenty War Memorial Trust on April 21st 1951 in memory of the fallen of the First and Second World Wars. The plaque also acknowledges the contribution of the City of Heidelberg War Memorial Trust'.
The Gates are 1.2 metreswide pedestrian and marked by masonry piers with moulded cement capping, random freestone facing. The gates are decorative wrought-iron, with panelled scrolled friezes at the top, midway and bottom. The main gate top rails have a scrolled profile and the rods to each gate have hooked ends, rising above the top rails.
