Statement of Significance
Two Pencil Pines (Cypresses torulosa) planted in Mr & Mrs McGivern's front garden in the early 1930's by Mr R McGivern. The property has since been subdivided.
House - A timber Californian Bungalow, built about 1929, with some later alterations which are reversible and do not diminish its significance, and contextual elements such as the fence, gates and mature trees. It is historically significant to Maroondah, with others of these groups, as a representative embodiment of rural family life in Croydon just before the Great Depression. It is architecturally significant as a good representative example of this domestic style with its contextual elements surviving.
