Darley Park Monuments - Veterans Description for Public
The Darley Park Monuments comprise of cairns dedicated to the Second World War and the Vietnam War. The first plaque reads, "39th Infantry Battalion Raised at Darley Camp October 1941. Being the first troops to cross the Kokoda Track, they were withdrawn from action January 1943 with only 7 officers and 25 other ranks remaining. Lest We Forget. Shire Bacchus Marsh."
The second plaque reads, "This plaque is dedicated to the young service personnel who died and suffered during the Vietnam Conflict 1962-1973."
