North Melbourne War Memorial - Veterans Description for Public
The North Melbourne War Memorial, on King and Hawke Streets, was erected by the North and West Melbourne Red Cross Society. The memorial comprises of a stone pillar dedicated to the First World War, Second World War, Korea, Malaya, Sabah Sarawak, Malaya and Vietnam. The inscription first engraved after the First World War reads, "In imperishable memory of Australia's sons who died in the cause of freedom in the Great War 1914-1918."
