Office - Physical Description 1
295 Latrobe Street is an unusual Federation style residence with a high degree of integrity. The building is a detached, single storey structure and features a prominent front gable protruding from a steeply pitched hip roof. The asymmetrical timber facade has typical double hung sash windows with side lights in the window beneath the gable. A Federation style return timber verandah with carved posts, arched timber valance, and Art Nouveau curvilinear fretwork provide the decoration. Other details include the original timber verandah floor, balustrade to the verandah and half timber and stucco rising sun motif in the gable . Red brick chimneys with corbelled mouldings protrude from the roof. The original concrete post and iron fence at the front of the site enhances the presentation of the house in the streetscape.
