CITATION
The presbytery at St. Mary of the Angels Church in Geelong was erected in 1886, to replace a dilapidated structure built before 1845. The Architect for the new two-storey rendered brick presbytery was Joseph Watts, a local architect, and his design is in the archetypal high Victorian villa format with a patterned slate roof and elaborate encircling cast-iron verandah as the most distinctive external feature. The presbytery has interesting historical associations with the adjacent church, and is enhanced by its situation in expansive gardens.
