Memorial Window Description & History
Stained Glass Window at Canterbury Congregational Church - Memorial Window Description & History
The Rev. RA Cook ordered a 61 inch diameter circular window from Brooks, Robinson & Co. in July 1949, intended as a memorial to the men from the church who enlisted in the forces in the Second World War. The design was one that had been used very effectively as a First World War memorial, probably re-worked from the old cartoons by William Kerr-Morgan (1896-1967), the resident artist and head of the stained glass department. An Honour Roll, to the men of the Second World War, and another opus sectile tablet recorded the names of the men who served in both wars.
