Rotunda, Grattan Gardens - Physical Description 1
A small, octagonal plan late-nineteenth century rotunda with ornate cast iron posts and freize supporting a corrugated iron roof. The rotunda sits on a modern concrete plinth and has modern metal balustrades. The rotunda is one of the few readily identifiable nineteenth century elements remaining in Grattan Gardens but it has been moved on two occasions and has lost some original fabric. It was relocated to the southern end of the gardens in the late 1980s where it was rebuilt on a tall red-brick plinth, without the original balustrade. The rotunda has since been moved back to the northern end of the gardens and rebuilt on a concrete plinth.
