GOLDEN AGE HOTEL SITE - History
The Max hotel was a three storey brick building on bluestone foundations built in 1854. Ratebooks note that the hotel was license to Martin Ryan in 1855. In 1856, the hotel consisted of a bar, 17 rooms, kitchen and a cellar. It was altered and extended in 1881.Heritage Inventory Description

The site continues to operate as the Golden Age Hotel and associated asphalted carpark.
