SIR CHARLES DARLING HOTEL SITE - History
Ratebooks note that the 1852 hotel (established by T. Brian) was originally named the Clare Hotel. It consisted of fifteen rooms, a kitchen, and a five stall stable. Two years later a cellar was added as well as ten rooms built above the stables.Heritage Inventory Description
