Statement of Significance
B Listed - Regional Significance
St. George's Presbyterian Manse is a two storey basalt villa with freestone dressings erected in 1864 by Geelong builder Halpin. It is an interesting example of the picturesque gothic villa mode, popular in the mid nineteenth century, and modestly adorned to complement the architecture of the adjacent Early English Gothic church of 1861 by Nathaniel Billing. The church and manse, both substantial structures, illustrate the wealth of many of the foundation patrons of this congregation, as well as being in a distinctive and harmonious architectural relationship.
