68-88 GREEN STREET SITE - History
The site contains archaeological remains associated with the adaption of the site from agricultural to residential and commercial in the mid to late 19th century. An 1896 MMBW plan shows 17 residential/commercial allotments on the site. The site was rezoned for industrial purposes in the 1950s, many of the houses remained until around 1963 when they were replaced with two large brick warehouses (68-72 and 72-88 Green Street).Heritage Inventory Description
