Statement of Significance
"Larnoo" at no. 9 Fletcher Street, Essendon, was built for Helen Boadle in 1905. It is highly representative of the middle class villas erected at Essendon during the post Federation period (Criterion A), demonstrating a relatively sophisticated juxtaposition of elements, enhanced by their spacious garden allotment (Criterion E). Note to accompany draft: Interior understood to be noted by the National Trust.

HOUSE (LARNOO) - Physical Description 1
A picturesque red brick Federation period villa with gable roofed wings terminating turned timber posted verandahs with ladder friezes. Elements characteristic of the period include the terra cotta tiled roof with ridge cresting, tall chimneys with strapwork, leadlit windows and window bays and rough cast with king post enrichment to the gable ends.
Condition: Sound: Integrity: Reconstructed verandah floor slab.
