Statement of Significance
The State School known as Essendon North no. 4015 at 112 Keilor Road, Essendon North, was opened in 1920 and extended in 1924, 1928 and at later times to the designs of the Victorian Public Works Department. It is historically important (Criterion A) as the centre of State Education in the locality since that time and is a utilitarian example of the Department's work using the courtyard plan, comparable with Essendon (1912), Bendigo High School (1913-14) and Castlemaine High School (1918).
