Statement of Significance
The house at no. 10 Leslie Road, Essendon, was built in 1924-25 for Louis Thompson. It has aesthetic importance. This importance (Criterion E) is derived from the picturesque design of the house which exhibits many of the characteristics of the Arts and Crafts movement at the time in a competent manner and includes the cross ridged gable roof, symmetrical gable ended elements, window bays, diminutive windows and buttressed porch. It is distinguished from its neighbours on account of its highly picturesque treatment, prominent corner allotment and relative size.
