Statement of Significance
Architecturally, successfully designed but similar to other Camberwell and Heidelberg examples however it is well preserved internally and externally and in a sympathetic garden setting: of regional importance.
Historically, of local importance as the home of one of a later generation of merchandisers in the city.

HOUSE - Physical Description 1
A stuccoed, two-level hipped roof house, with an asymmetrical plan, steel-framed corner windows and an upper, curved steel-balustraded balcony. Light fittings and fence are complementary whilst reputedly the interior remains near original with rooms such as the bathroom with its colour graduated wall tiling and sand-blasted fish patterns are highlights. The house adopts the modernity of the preceding European Modern movement (cf.2 Riverview Road) whilst retaining the suburban hipped-roof form evolved from the Italianate villa of the l890s.
Treetscape
