Statement of Significance
Architecturally, a simple but highly representative site from- and-of the gold era which is externally close to its original form and, with the adjacent stone walling, contributes to a valuable mining precinct.
Historically, it demonstrates the miner lifestyle by its form and siting, in particular the Jones family, who were long-term participants on the Eaglehawk field.

Building - Physical Description 1
Double-fronted and built of brick (painted), this simple gabled cottage has a hipped concave roof verandah and parapeted side walls. The capped rubble stone wall, extending to the east, supports the tenure history of both sites and points to the former Neangar Mine Shaft.
Building - Integrity
External - Chimney(s) have been altered and the bricks painted. A high front fence is both unrelated to the house period and an obstruction to views of the house.
