VALBURN - Physical Description 1
'Valburn', the house at 210 Glenlyon Road, East Brunswick is a symmetrical late Victorian double fronted timber villa (ashlar boards to the facade) with a corrugated iron M-hipped roof. The separate verandah is supported on turned timber posts and has a cast-iron frieze. The centrally located front door is flanked by paired double hung sash windows. Other features include dentilling and brackets to the eaves, and there are two corbelled brick chimneys. The house is very intact externally and in good condition. The front fence and gate are sympathetic, but not original.
A notable feature of the property is the twin mature Canary Island Palms (Phoenix canariensis) placed symmetrically either side of the entrance path in the front yard. These are among the largest examples of this species on private land and a rare example of two in the same garden.VALBURN - Physical Conditions
