How is it significant?
The house and front fence at 290 Moreland Road, Brunswick is of local aesthetic significance to the City of Moreland.
Why is it significant?
Of aesthetic significance as a fine and very intact example of a transitional bungalow in a prominent site of Moreland Road, constructed c.1925, which is complemented by its original front fence. (AHC Criterion E.1)

HOUSE & FRONT FENCE - Physical Description 1
Located on the high (south) side of Moreland Road on a corner site, the house at 290 Moreland Road is an unusual single storey red brick inter-war bungalow with two dominant gable ends, infilled with painted timber shingles, to front facade of the terracotta tiled roof. There are terracotta finials to the top of each gable end. Other features include the bow window to the front facade, with double-hung sash windows, the painted render string course under the sill line and above the front entrance porch and the louvred vent in the rear gable end.
The house also retains its original red brick fence with red brick piers and painted rendered caps to the south and west boundaries of the property.HOUSE & FRONT FENCE - Physical Conditions
