HOUSE - Physical Description 1
Built in 1924 for W L Kincaird, 1 Vincent St is an unusually refined example of the California bungalow. It is contructed of weatherboard with a low pitched corrigated iron roof. It has bell cast shingles in the gable ends and above the front windows and gables inclined outward from the house. These qualities accentuate the Japanese origins of the style and make this building an unusaully literal interpretation of the Californian bungalow in Melbourne. Although the front entry has been remodelled the building is largely intact.
