The house, garage and garden at 57 Rainer Street, Pascoe Vale South is of local aesthetic significance to the City of Moreland.
Why is it significant?
Of aesthetic significance, as a very good, intact and unusual example of a 1950s house and garden, with notable features including the detailing of the garage and garage entrance, including the driveway fence. The in-built garage and landscaped garden provide an appropriate setting and are of particular note. (AHC Criteria D.2 & E.1)

HOUSE - Physical Description 1
The house at 57 Rainer Street, Pascoe Vale South is an unusual cream brick single and two storey 1950s residence with a hipped glazed clay tile roof. The house incorporates a garage underneath. Windows are typical of the 1950s. The chimney is cream brick with manganese brick capping.
The house is differentiated by its bright green tiled wall sloping down leading down to the garage; manganese roman bricks to the ground floor; a white rendered column marking the garage entrance; and porthole windows to the ground floor.
The front fence is also in cream brick with manganese brick pillars and detailing. It features a curved shelf which holds a decorative planter. The property retains original landscaping and plantings.HOUSE - Physical Conditions
