DENTAL SURGERY - Physical Description 1
The Dental Surgery is an unusual two storey building with Federation detailing more commonly used in domestic or church architecture. The original building is a two storey building with a terracotta tiled gabled roof and a grouped red brick chimneys with four(?) terracotta chimney pots.
The building is unusual in that the ground floor is clad in painted weatherboard whilst the upper floor is clad entirely in a rectangular grid of painted half timber strapwork with painted stucco infill. The gables ends are painted stucco. Windows are tripartite casements with highlights; the ground floor windows have painted corrugated iron awnings - over a box window to the Sydney Road elevation. Windows are placed irregularly on both floors and both street elevations.
There is a clinker(?) brick single storey addition to the Sydney Road ground floor elevation, which has a flat terrace roof with a wrought iron balustrade. The terrace is entered via a door to the first floor. At the rear is a single storey weatherboard addition with a gabled terracotta tiled roof.
The building is complemented by a mature Liquidamber tree, on part of the former garden for the residence.DENTAL SURGERY - Physical Conditions
