Statement of Significance
The site is of archaeological significance for the potential to contain deposits of the 1864 cottage and Row family, various outbuildings and later horse stables.

STAMFORD PARK HOMESTEAD PRECINCT - History
The original small cottage was built by the Row family in 1864 and then replaced (in a different location on teh site) in 1881 with the extant homestead. The extensive lands were used for grazing and horse rearing. The homestead remained in private ownership until it was purchased by Knox City Council in 1987.STAMFORD PARK HOMESTEAD PRECINCT - Interpretation of Site
Initially a weekend house for the Row family, later became the country estate with grazing. From 1880s to 1915, horse rearing.
Potential archaeological sites associated with various outbuildings and possibly original cottage and stables.
