Statement of Significance
Hugh Linaker's cottage, built c.1911, designer unknown, is of State historical significance and of some architectural interest. It is historically important as the home of prominent gardener Hugh Linaker from 1912 until 1937 and is also significant as the only original Mont Park staff residence of the 1911-1925 period.
The house is an unusual style for the period, featuring plain walls, low-pitched overhanging roof, similar to the early institutional buildings on the site.
