Statement of Significance
The bluestone church (now used as hall): A bluestone church in the Decorated Gothic style, built in 1865, and distinctive for its imposing broach spire in cream brick, a material first produced in the suburb.
Statement of Significance for later church: An imposing bichrome brick church built in 1884 to the design of Evander McIver. The brickwork is brown with cream dressings and the style is mainly Early English, with a Decorated Gothic west window. Details such as the raking bracketted corbel tabled running up the gable are coarse and unscholarly, but the broach spire is sympathetic to the earlier church next door.
