Statement of Significance
The lights are historically and socially significant at a State level because they have been two important elements in the complete navigation system of Port Philip Bay and the Port of Melbourne.
They are attractive and distinctive landmarks in the bayside suburbs of Port Melbourne and are known to thousands of local residents, swimmers, yachtsmen and mariners who live and work or visit in that area.
