Statement of Significance
Contribution to the landscape.
A fine avenue of old, well-shaped Norfolk Island Pines.(Araucaria heterophylla) The trees contribute significantly to the landscape and is one of many fine examples of Norfolk Island Pine plantings throughout the City of Warrnambool, as mentioned in the Warrnambool Conservation Study 1983. They were planted in 1903 under the supervision of Charles Scoborio, curator of Warrnambool Botanic Gardens and who worked with Ferdinand Von Mueller at that time.
This particular avenue was brought to the Trust's attention due to the threat to several of the trees during road realignment works in Pertobe Road.
