Contribution to landscape of historic garden.
Rare or localised
This is an attractive example of a species unusual in cultivation in Victoria. The tree has very upright habit, an attractive trunk and forms a valuable contribution to the range of trees in the Gardens. It is a subtropical rainforest tree naturally found in NSW and Queensland and its golden hued wood is used for flooring, boat building and outdoor furniture.
Other known examples occur at Rosalind Park, Bendigo, and the Royal Botanic Gardens.
